This site is dedicated to free speech and free thought. We strive to open minds, discourage taking anything as given, and most importantly encourage everyone to ask "Why?". So often in our society we are spoonfed garbage ideas starting at birth, and when we ask why we are told "because that's the way it is" or "faith" are acceptable answers to the majority of life's toughest questions. While that may be acceptable to those who dislike thinking too much, there are those of us who yearn for more. The truth is out there, don't settle for less.

Background:

Digital Absolution actually started out as a funny idea to offer absolution from sins online for a small donation so churchgoers didn't have to go to church to get forgiven. This was an actual section on the site for a while, and we may bring it back, but the site has since evolved into something completely different. It's a place to discuss the important issues, and the ones that don't matter as much. All users are encouraged to keep a rant blog to write about what in our society bugs them the most, and everyone has a chance of getting to the front page. Comics are another integral part of the site. Our resident artist kittensixx cranks out awesome comics to illustrate some of the thoughts we portray in writing.

How do I submit my own rants?

Easy, just register for an account. Then click create content and then make a personal blog entry. All entries are immediately put into the user blog section. Follow the forum rules as a guideline to avoid being banned. Good posts that are intelligent and well written will be promoted to the Rants section and/or front page!

What is the address for my blog?

Your blog address is (http://digitalabsolution.com/blog/username). Obviously leave out the ( ) and replace username with your actual registered username. ;-)

How do I post in the forums or comment on articles?

All you have to do is register and then be logged in. The register link is over on the left underneath the login form. Or you can click here.

Why do the articles seem short and incomplete?

Because you're probably not reading the whole thing. Click the "(Continued) click here to read more" link at the bottom of the article snippet. Most pages only contain previews of the article.

What are the criteria for getting to the front page?

For starters, your views do not have to be the same as our editors'. (They may ridicule your faulty logic in a comment, but that goes with anything here.) All that an article needs is to be interesting, well written, and a rant pertaining to the subjects of this site. (politics, religion, culture, etc.)

If you're asking this question, especially in that wording, you're an idiot. Firstly because none of the staff are Atheists, and lastly because that word isn't in your vocabulary. Most of us are Agnostic, which is completely different.

Read the forum rules (CLICK HERE). They apply to the entire site, so read them and understand them before posting anything.

Can I do anything to help out?

You bet your ass you can! The biggest thing right now to help out is tell your friends. Write out some rants and get one on the front page, then brag to the world. Check out the Spread Absolution page for more ways to help. If you are a FireFox user, grab the Stumble plugin and give us a thumbs up and a positive review!

Can I submit comics to the site?

As comics are more bandwidth intensive than text, we do not allow everyone to submit them. However, if you have one you really want to go along with your rant, or just want to draw them for us or others, use the contact form and let us know you're interested. Include your real email address and we will try to work something out. We will probably ask for a sample or two depending on the situation.
