Everyone loves a good bible quote! They make you feel all warm and fuzzy, like some big guy in the sky is giving you a big hug.

I Corinthians 14:34-35: "women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church."
--Wow, is there a "Feminists Against Christianity" movement? If not, why?

Deuteronomy 22:28-29:"If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, he shall pay the girl's father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the girl, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives."
--Sounds like a reasonable enough punishment. All you Christian rapists out there, be sure you have the money and are ready to make the commitment before you rape. (SEE THE COMIC)

Proverbs 23:13:"Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you punish him with the rod, he will not die."
--I actually like this one. Does it apply to other peoples' kids? I'm looking at you, screaming child at the movies. (SEE THE COMIC)

Deuteronomy 21:18-21:"If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him, his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders at the gate of his town. They shall say to the elders, "This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a profligate and a drunkard." Then all the men of his town shall stone him to death. You must purge the evil from among you. All Israel will hear of it and be afraid."
--I'm sure glad my parents never read the bible.

Deuteronomy 15:16-17:"But if your servant says to you, "I do not want to leave you," because he loves you and your family and is well off with you, then take an awl and push it through his ear lobe into the door, and he will become your servant for life. Do the same for your maidservant."
--There you have it, the bible promotes slavery, and cruel slave treatment.

Matthew 10:34-36:"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her motherinlaw "?? man's enemies will be the members of his own household."
--This is an actual Jesus quote. He was a family-oriented person.

Ezekiel 23:20-21:"There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses. So you longed for the lewdness of your youth, when in Egypt your bosom was caressed and your young breasts fondled."
--This one goes out to all the angry Christian parents who think the hidden "sex" scenes in Grand Theft Auto weren't appropriate.
